IN INDIA’S TRANSPORT ECOSYSTEM
The University is a vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is India’s first university focussed on transport-related education, multidisciplinary research and training. Established as a Deemed to be University under De Novo category in 2018, it has now been converted to a Central University and rechristened as Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) under the Ministry of Railways, Govt. of India. The University is specifically established to create a resource pool of best-in-class professionals for the railway and transportation sector.
Through a values-based approach to academic learning, students will be equipped with both a solid grounding in their core field of study, as well as core values, such as inclusive leadership, nation-building, empathy, and environmental consciousness.
GSV (formerly-NRTI) has forged academic partnerships with top-ranked global universities offering opportunities for students and faculty exchange, joint research and learning.

"I have always felt that I am so lucky to be an NRTI student. I can positively say NRTI has made me a better person. It has helped me develop a positive attitude towards my studies and discover more about myself. The faculty are very caring and interested in students’ well-being."
"NRTI has given me various opportunities to explore myself and my interests. The faculty encourages us to devote time to extra-curriculars. Backed by flexible courses and a supportive administration, we are developing skills that help us not only prepare for the industry, but also prepare for life"
"In a guest session with Mr. Piyush Goyal, a student asked ‘What are we going to become after graduating from NRTI’. He replied, ‘You are going to become whatever you want to be’. That’s when I realised that I’m in the right place. NRTI has transformed me into a versatile person who knows her potential and is ready for the world."
